A FISH CALLED FUGU
WHAT? Fugu, or poison blowfish.
HOW IT WORKS
Only a pinhead's worth of fugu toxin can kill 30 people. The poisonous parts need to be removed by a licensed fugu chef. The flesh is sliced so thin that the pattern on the platter shows through once the meat is plated.
THE EXPERIENCE
Nausea, dizziness, loss of motor skills - these are the dramatic symptoms of fugu poisoning. But your tastebuds won't experience anything so dramatic. Fugu is virtually flavourless. Tradition and honour dictate that if a fugu chef accidentally kills a customer by not preparing the fugu safely, the chef must commit seppuku (suicide by disembowelment).
